Rapunzel, Rapunzel let down your…wait a minute!

So Spring is here and you want a new look for summer. Like most woman I to get uber nervous when some comes close to my hair with scissors. We all want to have the nerves to something cool and different with our hair. I know every time I’m about to get a hair cut I tell all my friends Oh I’m gunna do something drastic, maybe like Rihanna or Lady GaGaish. And every time I chicken out and get the same cut. My stylish doesn’t even ask me anymore, he just assumes I’m getting the usual; an inch off the bottom, long and short layers, angled in the front, V shaped in the back. The only “spice” he’ll ask is fringe or no fringe? The answer is always yes. I always get this cut because I have thick wavy hair, so all the layers give me volume without even trying. Plus I’m a fan of the messy waves/ bed hair train that everyone was on last year. But I decided to do something different, you know like CHOPPING OFF 12 inches of my hair!!! Yea I really did it! Sometimes we need something new, but do your research so you know what will work for your face. So here is a guide to hair cuts for different face shapes.

Round

For those of you with round faces, you want a haircut that adds height, so it’ll give the illusion of a longer face. Also, try a middle part this also adds to the illusion of a longer narrow face. Avoid blunt bangs, as cute as they are they will add width to your face making you look squished.

Oval

For the lucky bunch with oval shaped faces, you can pretty much do anything you want when it comes to haircuts. Whether is long, medium, or short with blunt bangs or side bangs you can rock. However, if you have fine hair, try a cut with layers to add volume.

Square

If you have a square shaped face it means you have a well-defined jaw line. So small wispy layers around your face will soften the sharpness. Also you can ROCK side bangs, but blunt bangs will do you well too. Stick to medium to short hair it’s your forte.

Heart

Heart shaped faces also have a lot to work with. Any thing that sticks close to your chin will really make you stand out from the crowd. Medium hair with blunt bangs is something you’d really work!

Oblong

Say hello to short hair! You’re of the small group that can rock short cuts. Because your face is longer, short hair gives an illusion of softening it. Try a bob with bangs!!

Triangular

For those with triangular faces you do well with layers. Lots of layers. Start at the jaw line and layer down. For some spice add bangs!

Diamond

And finally diamond shaped face. You also have a lot to work with. Honestly anything can work in your favor. Try avoiding middle parts and styles with height on top (they add length).

Remember if you’re cutting off your hair you can donated it to many different organizations that can use it to make wigs for men, women, and children with cancer!
